4th GABRIEL Network Meeting

Description

The 4th meeting of the GABRIEL Network was held in Bamako in the Charles Mérieux Centre of Infectiology in December 2011.

More than 60 participants coming from 20 different countries were present. The main results of the GABRIEL Network members involved in the pilot study on pneumonia and in the tuberculosis resistance were presented. Themes such as fevers, antibiotics and antiviral resistance were also discussed. Two workshops, one on the ‘biosampling’ and another one on ‘epidemiology’, were organized to harmonize the collection practices and storage of samples and to determine essential and necessary elements for the implementation of a multicentric study.
