Technology transfer

of diagnostic tools for better infectious disease detection and surveillance.

Technology transfer is valuable in many different contexts.

  • In response to epidemics: for the detection and characterization of SARS-CoV2 variants during the recent pandemic.
  • Within the scope of a clinical research project: for tests to characterize pathogens, or for molecular typing of S. pneumoniae and M. tuberculosis.
  • As part of an operational research project: to assess the performance and cost-effectiveness of a test (e.g. prognostic biomarkers) or evaluate a comprehensive screening and treatment strategy for an infectious disease (e.g. screening tools).
