A network in action

Our initiatives focus on 3 key pillars to strengthen the scientific and technical capacities of our members.

Building and strengthening capacity

We organize a wealth of activities to improve the scientific capacity of local laboratories in low-income countries.

  • We provide guidance for our partners to develop programs about infectious pathogen surveillance, clinical research, and operational research.
  • We create synergies and opportunities for information exchange so that network members can share their research results and design new projects.
  • We support young researchers by issuing calls for applications and awarding thesis grants.
  • We encourage participating laboratories to look to their local context to define research priorities.
